TheBaptist Times is Britain's only Baptist newspaper, and extends its readership all round the world. It has been produced weekly since 1855.
It reports on the news and views of the Baptist denomination, which is one of the denominations which is seeing a rise in church attendance in the UK. It also reflects the major events in the wider Christian Church and provides analysis on news from across the world.
Recent high points for the paper include securing the first interview with freed Iraq hostage Norman Kember. We have also reported extensively on the Middle East crisis through our network of contacts in Lebanon and Israel/Palestine.
The Baptist Times recently won the Churches Media Council's Andrew Cross Award for the best regional paper, for its production of a daily paper for the Baptist World Congress in 2005, and feature writer Ruth Dickinson won the Best Young Talent award.
Regular contributors include the Revd John Rackley, former president of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and former editor Hazel Southam.
Other regular features include theological reflections, opinion pieces and art and book reviews. While we work closely with the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the paper is editorially independent. We have an estimated readership of over 24,000.
