Page 1 of 2 The Baptist TimesThe Baptist Times is Britain's dedicated Baptist news and comment website. It launched in spring 2012, and is the successor to the denominational newspaper of the same name, which had been produced weekly since 1855 until its closure in 2011. We believe Jesus Christ is before all things (Colossians 1: 15 – 18), and our website seeks to help local churches and Christians fulfil His mission by informing, resourcing, inspiring and connecting the denomination in all its diversity. The Baptist Times is part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, a network of more than 2,000 churches and 140,000 members. It draws on stories from those churches and attempts to reflect the thinking within them. It also reports on major events in the wider Christian Church and provides news and analysis from across the world, drawing on our network of contacts in the Baptist World Alliance and the European Baptist Federation. It is edited by Paul Hobson, the news editor (2008 – 11) of the printed version of The Baptist Times. An experienced local journalist, Paul’s background includes stints with the Kent Messenger and the Basingstoke Gazette.
