Managing Stress and Anxiety Webinar Recording

Growing the seed of the kingdom at a time of unrivalled anxiety and stress

Baptist Minister Shaun Lambert led this webinar on Wednesday 1 April at 1pm and recommended the following resources:

Introducing Christian Mindfulness  by Richard H H Johnston
A Book of Sparks: A study in Christian Mindfullness by Shaun Lambert
Mindfulness. A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams.

The Mind and Soul Foundation - https://www.mindandsoulfoundation.org/ This website has a number of resources relating to the current Corona  Virus pandemic.

The prayers Shaun explores during the webinar are available on this Baptist Times article.

"I am a Baptist Minister and trained psychotherapist. I began researching handling stress and anxiety in 2006 through mindfulness when I came close to burnout and breakdown. A turning point was when I came across a phrase by 5th century Greek Bishop Diadochus of Photike, ‘Fix your eyes on the depths of your heart with an unceasing mindfulness of God.’

We will be looking at Jesus’ parable of the seed and the sower and how to handle the worries of this life. There are two intentions for this webinar. The first is to help us to hold intense levels of stress and anxiety, rather than be held by them. Such feelings are very understandable right now in the Coronavirus world crisis.

The second is to help us bear spiritual fruit during such a time. I will be drawing on the wisdom of scripture, psychology and spiritual practices so that we can prophetically imagine new ways of being church".

Phil Jump, Team Leader for the North West Baptist Association says “Shaun recently led a series of excellent sessions at our ministers conference reminding us all of the need to be attentive to our spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing – he offers sound, Biblically rooted, down to earth, practical advice that resonated with our own recent focus on prayerfulness”
