Carbon Offsetting

Over the past few years, the UN Climate Conferences have affirmed that increased carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are causing global warming on our planet. The need to respond is urgent. This decade is a crucial one in which we need to make deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions to prevent catastrophic impacts on people, nature and the whole community of creation.
Everything you do - what you buy and eat, where you go and how you get there - adds to the growth of greenhouse gases, leading to global warming impacting vulnerable people’s lives around the world.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to walk in step with God's mission to all of creation. Offsetting your Carbon Footprint is a way of paying towards projects to reduce emissions or absorb CO
2 to compensate for your own emissions.
When coming to Baptist Assembly in 2026,
please consider carbon offsetting and support BMS projects to reduce carbon emissions. Visit the BMS World Mission website to find out more and to
use their carbon calculator.
In addition to supporting these projects that are working to reduce global warming, as part of your missional discipleship in an age of climate change we would encourage you to consider the environment when travelling to Baptist Assembly - maybe car sharing or using public transport.
