Programme Overview

What's happening at the 2027 Assembly?

The theme of Baptist Assembly this year is United in Mission. A key element will be to conclude our three-year process of discernment, dialogue, and engagement around the proposed Mission Resolution. This proposed resolution, introduced by members of the Baptists Together Mission Forum, is designed to give expression to a discerned shared understanding of mission across the movement, and will be brought for formal adoption at Assembly 2027.

Following a period of listening, reflection and discernment across Baptists Together, a new draft of our proposed 'Shared Understanding of Mission' has now been published.

The original draft was presented at Baptist Assembly 2025, not as a finished statement, but as an invitation to conversation and discernment. Since then, churches, groups and individuals from across our Union have shared their reflections and stories of participating in the mission of God.

What has been heard has helped to shape a substantially shorter and revised draft, which is now offered for further reflection and discernment as we journey towards Baptist Assembly 2027.

Resources, including a short video, are available to help churches engage with the resolution. For more, visit the Mission Resolution area of the Baptists Together website.  Alongside the resolution, please see below for an idea of what to expect at United in Mission.

There will be Children and Youth Programmes available on the Saturday and Sunday, which need to be booked with Adult tickets in advance.

There will be a creche room throughout Baptist Assembly for preschool children. This will be unstaffed and is for parents and carers to stay with their children.

Delegates will receive a printed programme on arrival and this can be viewed online here.
