Friday Streams at Baptist Assembly 2026

The streams being held on Friday afternoon from 14:00-17:00 will be a choice of:

  • Discovering  Ministry
(Runs over both Friday afternoon sessions)

Do you sense that God is calling you to be a Baptist minister?

Or do you know of someone else who has voiced a wondering about a calling to Baptist ministry?

Whether a sense of calling is strong and persistent, or tentative and emerging, our Exploring Ministry afternoon is for anyone who wants to know more.

We will have all in one place our Baptist colleges, representatives from our regional Associations, members of the Baptist Union Ministries Team, a number of people already in training, and a few who recently completed their ministerial formation programme. We will hear some stories about the different ways women and men exercise ministry – whether as church pastors, chaplains, pioneers, evangelists, or children’s youth and families ministers. We will explain the various routes into recognised and accredited Baptist ministry and talk about some of the practicalities involved. And we will leave you with an idea about who or what can help you explore further – whether by getting a taster for ministry as an intern, or being coached by a mentor as you serve in your local church or mission project.
  • Safeguarding
The National Safeguarding Team will be running a full Level 3 Excellence in Safeguarding course on Friday afternoon. If you are a minister, DPS or church leader who need to refresh your training, book in and come and learn with others. Certificates will be issued for all attendees.

  • Everyone, Everywhere
Session 1: Sharing Faith
In this Everyone Everywhere session, we’ll explore how each of us - regardless of our church size, tradition, age, or context - can share the good news of Jesus with confidence and authenticity. Together we’ll discover how our diverse experiences enrich the ways we communicate faith, and how simple, everyday conversations can become surprising moments of grace. This will be a warm and generous space where everyone contributes something valuable. By the end, you’ll be better equipped with practical approaches, deeper understanding, and renewed courage to share Jesus well in your own setting.

Seminar 2: Starting New Christian Communities
This seminar stands on its own or offers a natural next step for those who have explored faith sharing in the earlier session. Here we’ll imagine what new Christian communities might look like in your place and among your people - whether urban or rural, time‑honoured or pioneering, fresh expressions or micro‑church in form. We’ll explore how the diversity of our Baptist family strengthens our shared calling to create fresh spaces where people can encounter Jesus. You’ll be inspired by real examples and leave with practical first steps to discern, shape, and begin something new from within your own context.

  • Fresh Streams
Equipping You to Be Prophetic and discover how to hear God’s voice with greater clarity and confidence. This interactive seminar blends teaching and activation to help you step out and encourage others. It will be dynamic and hands-on designed to build confidence and equip you to step out in the prophetic—safely, wisely, and encouragingly.
Perfect for anyone wanting to grow in the prophetic.
