Friday Streams at Baptist Assembly 2026

The streams being held on Friday afternoon from 14:00-17:00 will be a choice of:

  • Exploring Ministry
(Runs over both Friday afternoon sessions)

Do you sense that God is calling you to be a Baptist minister?

Or do you know of someone else who has voiced a wondering about a calling to Baptist ministry?

Whether a sense of calling is strong and persistent, or tentative and emerging, our Exploring Ministry afternoon is for anyone who wants to know more.

We will have all in one place our Baptist colleges, representatives from our regional Associations, members of the Baptist Union Ministries Team, a number of people already in training, and a few who recently completed their ministerial formation programme. We will hear some stories about the different ways women and men exercise ministry – whether as church pastors, chaplains, pioneers, evangelists, or children’s youth and families ministers. We will explain the various routes into recognised and accredited Baptist ministry and talk about some of the practicalities involved. And we will leave you with an idea about who or what can help you explore further – whether by getting a taster for ministry as an intern, or being coached by a mentor as you serve in your local church or mission project.
  • Safeguarding
The National Safeguarding Team will be running a full Level 3 Excellence in Safeguarding course on Friday afternoon. If you are a minister, DPS or church leader who need to refresh your training, book in and come and learn with others. Certificates will be issued for all attendees.

  • Planning
  • Other elements of these development journeys.

  • Everyone, Everywhere
Our two Everyone Everywhere seminars offer an invitation into a warm, expansive conversation: regardless of church size, tradition, age, context, or model - urban, rural, time-honoured, pioneering, chaplaincy or micro-church - the call to share faith and start new Christian communities belongs to all of us. In these sessions, we’ll explore how our rich diversity strengthens our collective mission. This will be a generous space where everyone has something to offer, empowering us together to proclaim the good news of Jesus everywhere. By the end of each session you will be better equipped to share Jesus well, and to imagine - and perhaps even have the first steps to begin - starting a new Christian community from your context.

  • BMS World Mission
Session 1.
What does a youth led global mission movement look like?
BMS’ Youth Engagement Officer, Orla Moxon will facilitate a session with attendees of the recent March for Mission event where young adults from the UK church learned about mission with a global cohort of young people. Bringing their learnings and reflections about how this how impacted how they will approach mission in their communities.

Session 2.
What does a youth led global mission movement look like?
BMS’ Youth Engagement Officer, Orla Moxon will facilitate a session with leaders of youth led mission movements across the UK about what churches are seeing in response to the “quiet revival”.
