Safeguarding Contracts should be put in place when a church leadership become aware of a member of the congregation has been identified a posing a risk to children, young people or adults at risk. This may be someone who has been previously convicted of sexual or violent offences against children, young people or adults at risk;, or someone who has been arrested but not yet been to Court for those kind of offences. This guide will answer some of the most common questions that churches have around contracts, however we could not cover everything. It is important that you speak to your regional association safeguarding contact when you find out that a Safeguarding Contract is needed. They will provide you with a template and support you through the process.
