Bread of Life

Bread of Life is a micro-bakery, coffee shop and community hub in Strood, Kent.

Jesus once said “I am the Bread of Life”. He wasn’t saying he was a loaf of bread! Rather, he was claiming to offer life; a full and abundant life; to help us know life that is fulfilling and satisfying. Bread of Life is run by volunteers who have discovered that life - not through following a religion or philosophy, but through relationship with Jesus, the Bread of Life himself.

The majority of the team at Bread of Life are volunteers. The one exception is the project manager and chief baker, John Western. John has a background as a scientist and small business manager. He has over 20 years experience as an accredited Baptist minister. He is a passionate baker, who trained at the School of Artisan Food.
