Gold for Baptist residential care home
Parkside Residential Care Home, based in Gidea Park, has been honoured with a top national award for its outstanding level of care—particularly in supporting residents at the end of life

The care home has achieved the prestigious Gold Standard Framework (GSF) accreditation, which recognises excellence in care for people nearing the end of their lives.
This award is given only to care providers who can demonstrate the highest quality of personalised care, ensuring individuals live well before they die—and are supported to die well, in the place and manner of their choosing.
Parkside, located on Main Road in Gidea Park, is a 32-bed residential home owned and run by Romford Baptist Housing Association.
Founded in 1971 by Romford Baptist Church, the home continues to be governed by the church and operates as a not-for-profit organisation—reinvesting all income back into the care and wellbeing of its residents.
The Revd Ian Bunce, leader of the home, commented, 'I am delighted that we have achieved this award, and the credit goes to the amazing team of management, carers, and all the staff working at the home.
'The most important aspect of this is that the residents of the care home are loved, cared for, and valued at every step of their time with us.'
The Gold Standard Framework award is officially presented at a ceremony on Friday, 26 September in Birmingham.
