Outreach and faith sharing explored at Burton-on-Trent hub

Twenty-eight of us from three churches were treated to wonderful hospitality, before worship, discussion in groups and prayer at the second small church hub in the Burton-on-Trent area, reports Hilary Taylor

A large blue sign for Littleover Baptist Church displays service information and features two smaller poster display cases. Below it, a white banner advertises "Tranquility Café" held on Wednesdays in the Community Hall. A modern grey SUV is parked in a driveway to the left of the sign.

The day was hosted by Littleover Baptist Church in Derby.

The groups had questions about how the churches reach out into their communities, how people are attracted to the buildings and what is provided for people to explore faith.

We also talked about how digital resources were being used, how faith was shared and how difficulties to share could be overcome.

We finally thought about the welcome we give people on their first visit and how this develops over time.

We prayed for each of the 10 churches linked with the hub here.

The feedback was very positive with people saying they would attend more events and be interested in a gifting workshop or disciples making workshop in the autumn. There was also much interest in connecting between hub events by email or WhatsApp. (This is working well at other hubs).

If you would be interested in hosting a small church hub in your area, do contact Hilary Taylor.
