Praying to God through the pandemic
Written by Patrick Coghlan, minister at Worstead Baptist Church in Meeting Hill (North Norfolk)
Loving God,
I pray that in the stillness, brought to so many through the pandemic, we might experience you in all your fullness.
I pray that in the loneliness, many are experiencing as a result of lock-down or bereavement, we might be very aware of your presence and receive your comfort.
I pray that in the despair, experienced by many through livelihoods being challenged as a result of the tough regulations for everyone’s safety, we might experience your provision.
I pray that in the suffering, experienced by so many, in so many different ways, during these times, that we might be filled with hope for the future.
I pray that in the harsh reality of the world pandemic, we might experience your love shining through.
I pray that in the midst of Covid 19, as we become more aware of our own mortality, we might also give more thought to our eternal futures.
I pray that in this time of sickness, we might experience your spiritual healing, through a personal relationship with Jesus.
I pray for all those who are giving so much during these difficult times: help me to give what I can to serve you, in serving others.
Thank you that you are here with us, providing blessings amongst the hardship: help us to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
