Growth and change at latest hub

There was a theme of growth and change among the hub churches who met at Forest Row Baptist Church (FRBC) in East Sussex recently

We enjoyed the hospitality then worshipped together, led by the fab worship team at FRBC. We waited on God to hear from him and six pictures/words were shared, which was encouraging.

Started by conversations at the hub meetings, God has called a local minister to give one day a week to Forest Row Baptist for their next season. God is good! Stories of deepening relationships and new members following a season of listening to God were told, alongside the provision of a new manse and other answers to prayer.

Among the prayer requests were for expertise and prayer as one church begins a youth club, a long-awaited transfer of a community building from the council (Westvale Community Church), the lunch club to share faith in a local school (Life Community Baptist Church) and the upcoming live nativity in the town (Uckfield).

Andy Twilley (regional minister, South Eastern Baptist Association) shared SEBA events coming soon – ‘Partners in Mission’ day (24 April at Crawley Baptist Church), an ‘Equipped to Preach’ course and the learning hub in Kent (new ones in Surrey and Sussex in 2027).

The WhatsApp group is going well, with people offering to share expertise and help to all the hub churches – it’s a great way to communicate! From safeguarding training, worship team jam sessions, AV expertise, treasurer help, to mental health training and guidance on Eco Church.

We are stronger together. If your church would like to host or attend a small church hub, do contact Hilary Taylor (Small Church Connexion): office@smallchurchconnexion.co.uk
