Research on new believers to shape Fresh Streams Equipping Days

Fresh Streams is partnering with the Evangelical Alliance to host a series of Equipping Days helping church leaders explore how people are coming to faith in Jesus in the UK today

The gatherings will centre on the Evangelical Alliance’s new research project, Finding Jesus – Identifying pathways to faith in adulthood, conducted in partnership with Durham University. The study surveyed nearly 300 adults who have come to faith within the past five years, exploring the influences, relationships and experiences that shaped their journey towards Jesus.

The Equipping Days aim to help church leaders engage with the findings and reflect on what they might mean for evangelism and discipleship in local churches.

The Revd Andy Glover, Team Leader of Fresh Streams, said the research offers both encouragement and challenge for churches seeking to share the gospel in contemporary culture.

'The gospel has not lost its power. People are still discovering Jesus today. Our task as churches is to listen, learn and respond with courage and imagination.'

The sessions will be led by Rachael Heffer, Head of Mission at the Evangelical Alliance, who will present key insights from the research and explore their implications for the church today.

Each Equipping Day will include worship, teaching, prayer and lunch for leaders to connect and reflect together. Three Finding Jesus Equipping Days are currently planned in 2026, each beginning at 9.30am and ending at 2pm.

  • King’s Cross Baptist Church, London    Thursday 19 March
  • Tarporley Chapel, Cheshire                          Wednesday 15 April
  • Shirley Baptist Church, Solihull                 Thursday 21 May

The 2026 Finding Jesus Equipping Days add to the two days held in autumn 2025.

Fresh Streams hopes to offer further Equipping Days in the future and is in conversation with the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity to run some events later in 2026.
